Punky Winkle

Nancy,
It has been many years since we have seen each other, I’m so very sorry to hear about the loss of your partner. I have to share a pleasant memory with you. I remember when you first met Doria. We were at a get together and you were so very happy about the relationship. You showed me a beautiful picture of her. You shared with me she was relentless with all her energy! I could see in your eyes that you cared very deeply for her.
That made me very happy for you,
Think of your wonderful times together and sing to Doria with all your heart.
Sincerely,
Punky (a voice from the past)

Our families grew up together in Kenosha. Doria's mother, 'Toots" as my dad Conrad and aunt Marcie Jechorek would call her were neighbors back in the 30's and 40's. Then in the 60's I met Renee, Doria's sister at St. Peter's School. The thing I remember most about Doria was her great disposition and beautiful constant smile. She loved her mother's big chocolate chip cookies that they kept in the kitchen drawer with a glass of fresh milk. I think of the Lichter family with great fondness, wonderful folks that made a difference in my life. Sally Jechorek Martin
