Condolences

Condolence From: Jeff and Cindy Juday
Condolence: It is with tearful eyes and a heavy heart that I write these words in remembrance of the man that everyone at Friendship Indiana knew as "Split Toe". Mike's cabin at the top of the hill in the primitive area was always a place to gather and have a bite to eat or drink during the Spring and Fall Shoot. I watched as Mike welcomed visitor after visitor into his camp, just as he did years ago with Cindy and I when we were starting out in primitive camping, and treated everyone like he had known them forever. He and his sidekick and "personal chef", as he referred to him, "Tadpole" were always cooking something over the fire and Mike was anxious to describe and explain his cast iron cookware and methods of cooking over the open fire to each and every visitor as they gathered to listen and learn. He always had a joke to tell and a great smile. Mike was a great ambassador for the primitive area of the NMLRA and will forever be loved and missed by all of us, but he will never be forgotten. To Cindy and I and many others, Mike was Friendship and the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.
