Obituary

Alyce Louise Pinnola, 87, of Kenosha, was born into eternal life on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Elder Care Cottages of Wisconsin in Waterford.

Born on a farm in East Central Wisconsin on February 10, 1933, she was the youngest of twelve children to the late Herman and Elsa (Marohl) Drews. She graduated with honors from Lake Emily School. After years of learning to play piano from her mother, she moved with them to the city of Fox Lake and she became an organist at their local church.

While attending Fox Lake High School, she took singing lessons from the music teacher and began winning awards at higher levels. She was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. With a deep passion for the pursuit of knowledge, Alyce attended many different college courses over the years. She graduated from Madison Business College with her associate degree in accounting and sang with the Lutheran Student Chorus, studied music at Wisconsin College of Music in Milwaukee, acted with the Milwaukee Players and Milwaukee Arts Theatre, and belonged to the club Adventures in Lifelong Learning.

For over 25 years, Alyce was employed as an accountant and was a Toastmaster at Abbott Laboratories, rising through the ranks in many leadership positions and winning many speaking and evaluation contests, and retired in 1998. One of her most notable accomplishments was serving as the Chicagoland District Treasurer and District Conference Chairman. She attended all conventions, even if it meant traveling out of state. She was a member of St. Mary Lutheran Church.

On June 20, 1958, she married Anthony Pinnola. He preceded her in death on their anniversary in 1993.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Roxanna) Pinnola; two daughters, Lisa (Billie Pulera) Pinnola and Diane (Thomas) Midthun; 10 grandchildren, Marissa (Justin), Nick (Ellen), Michelle, Carly, Benjamin, Emily, Jason, Ben, Kendra, and Kandace; and six great-grandchildren, Avery, Hayzel, Clara, Chloe, Morgan, and Tommy.

She is preceded in death by eleven siblings, Raymond, Martin, Irene, Dorothy, Adeline, Frederick, Elva, Donald, Delmer, Ruby, and one in infancy.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 16th, at Proko Funeral Home, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. Facial coverings and social distancing are required for those attending. Interment will be held privately at St. George Cemetery.

She was such a sweet person and great freind. I always enjoyed sleeping over at their home when I was little girl. I remember when she came down to Florida to visit us at my mother home. Such great time. You will be missed.
