Obituary

Rudolph “Rudy” F. Imbrogno was born November 29, 1927, in Kenosha, WI, son of the late Charles and Carmella (Savaglio) Imbrogno. He married Jane Anne Murphy on June 1, 1953, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Catholic Church in Kenosha. They were happily married for 41 years until her death parted them on March 25, 1995. They had six children, Charles Imbrogno, John (Darcy) Imbrogno, Yvonne Imbrogno, Carmella (Joseph) Richards, Genevieve (Ben) Pringle and Rudy (Melanie) Imbrogno. He leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rudy served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, KY from 1946-1947 in the 717th Tank Battalion. He then worked at Great Lakes Naval Base as a Civil Service Technician on U.S. Army Nike Ajax Missiles for 28 years. He also worked at Fort Sheridan as the night shift Supervisor on military missile equipment where he received numerous awards.

In 1976, he purchased the Traveler’s Rest Motel in Salem, WI. He retired in 1988 and enjoyed over 33 years of retirement.

He was fortunate to find a second love of his life with Yukiko Follensbee, he spent more than 25 wonderful years with her and her sons Doug Fugate and Tim (Candy) Fugate and her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was a devout Catholic and ushered at St. Peter’s Catholic Church for over 35 years. He was also a founding member of St. Peter’s Magnificently and Mature (M&M) Senior Luncheon for seven years. He liked to play at casinos for amusement and loved magic of any kind! He could even perform a few magic tricks himself. He was a warm, friendly, and funny man who the Lord could have taken so many times in so many ways – he had a long and happy life and will be so very missed!!

In addition to his parents and first wife, Rudy was preceded in death by two brothers and two great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Rodrigo Mata III and his staff for their care and compassion.
