Obituary for Patricia M Mertz (Casper)
Patricia May (Casper) Mertz, 87, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Kenosha Place.
Born on May 2, 1935, in Scottville, MI, she was the daughter of the late Peter Frank and Ann E. (Kavaluskis) Casper. On October 17, 1959, Patricia married Gottlieb “Gene” Mertz, in Scottville, MI.
As a long time member, Patricia “Pat” was very active in Bethany Lutheran Church. She also had a plethora of hobbies, which included gardening, cooking, and reading. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two children, Steve (Peggy) Mertz of Kenosha and Laura (Matt) Giese of Columbus, OH; two grandchildren, Michael Mertz and Sara (Dan) Riggs; along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Peter Franklin Casper, and Mary Ann (Casper) Listing.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 14, at Bethany Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.
