Michael David Sandwisch, 53, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Parkersburg, WV, he was the son of David Willis and Sandra Darlene (Barnes) Sandwisch. On September 3, 2006, he married the love of his life, Sylvia Moreno, in Lake Geneva, WI, after being set up by his mom and sister. They went on a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean and enjoyed many cruises together.
He worked for Chevrolet in the sales and service department for 18 years. Mike went on to work in healthcare and was employed at Vista hospital during the Covid Pandemic in 2020, specifically working in the Covid wing of the hospital. He provided compassionate care to Covid patients and was an integral part in them having the ability to maintain contact with their families. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed going on mini adventures with his son Michael. He always made sure it was the funnest thing for a boy to see. He loved going to the 7-Mile fair, flea markets, and swap meets. Mike lived for football game days, even though he and Sylvia were a house divided, him being a Chicago Bear fan and her a Green Bay Packer fan. They enjoyed various sporting events with the Moreno family. Mike loved traveling and exploring new places. He was a Texas enthusiast and loved the idea of moving down there someday. His therapy was always on his Harley motorcycle. He was always known to make people laugh, and he cherished his family over everything.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; son, Michael David Sandwisch Jr; goddaughter, Jennifer J. Jones; parents David and Sandra; and sister, Susan Whittaker; nephews, Zackery and Nathan Whittaker; and great-nieces & nephews.
