Obituary for Michael Patrick Kirchen

Michael Kirchen, age 78, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, formerly of Fletcher, NC and Garrison, ND, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020. Loving husband of Linda Kirchen (nee Bottema), loving brother to Mary Schaefer and the late James Kirchen, devoted father of Christopher Kirchen, Bryan Kirchen and his wife Carrie, and step-father to Cathie Johnson and her husband Eric. Proud Bubba (grandfather) to Crystal Bullis and her husband Tim, Dylan Johnson and his wife Megan, Maxwell Kirchen and Alexa Kirchen. Doting great-grandfather of Camden Bullis and Elliana Bullis.

He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. He proudly served his country with honor in the Vietnam War as a First Lieutenant and earned the Bronze Star, he remained connected with his Military family through meeting regularly at the “Heroes Cafe”. Mike was a lifelong musician who passed his love of music on to his spouse, children, and grandchildren. He gave freely of himself and volunteered at a variety of organizations bringing joy, comfort, and laughter to others. Later in life he began writing with regular contributions to the Kenosha News and has been nationally published. He will be remembered lovingly as a patriot, devoted family man, talented musician, storyteller, and caring friend.

Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of life will be scheduled in the future.
