Obituary for Martin Luther King Alford

Martin was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin where he lived with his mother, father, and sisters – Annette and Evelyn. They next moved to South Bend, Indiana where he spent his formative and high school years. Martin graduated from high school in South Bend, Indiana. While living in South Bend, Martin met Georgia, and from that union Lloyd, his first child was born. Martin then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a brief time and lived there with his sister Annette, before moving to California. In California, Martin met Wanda (Gail) and from that union he had twin daughters – Lawryn and Aaliyah.

In California, he attended the Los Angeles Harbor College (ASO). He also attended the Iowa State University. He studied to become a dental hygiene technician. One of his major pastimes was basketball. Martin loved basketball! He not only played basketball, but in California he was also a recreation park counselor, coached many basketball and football games, took children on field trips, and mentored them. In fact, he was the basketball coach for rapper “The Game” and his brother at one point! Martin loved to watch and play sports. Some of his favorite teams were the Chicago Bulls, the San Francisco 49ers, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the Chicago Bears. His favorite team out of all of them was the Chicago Bears. Martin also loved old school music, especially Cali rappers such as Tupac and Dr. Dre. He also loved a lot of the 90’s girl’s groups.
Martin loved his family, and he will be missed by his family.
Martin was preceded in death by his loving parents, Annie Lee Alford and Oather Lee Alford; a sister – Princess Dominique Alford; two uncles – Arthur Alford and Frank Alford; and both sets of grandparents.

Martin also leaves behind his loving children, Lloyd (Aisha) Alford, Lawryn Alford, and Aaliyah Alford, as well as his grandchildren – Malachi, Mykey, Lloyd Jr., Le’Ann, Rylee, Levi, Koa, and Brielle.

Martin had seven brothers – Ronnie Britton of San Diego, CA; Jerry Alford of Virginia; Jeffery Alford of Atlanta, GA; Timothy Alford of South Bend, IN; Angelo Alford, Michael Alford, and Otha Alford, all of Milwaukee, WI.
Martin had nine other sisters – Angelina Alford of Atlanta, GA; Valerie Alford of South Bend, IN; Annette Alford of Racine, WI; Evelyn Alford of San Antonio, TX; Darlene Alford of Atlanta, GA; Andrea Alford-Davis (Jerry) of Milwaukee, WI; Racheal Ulmer (John), Freda Alford, and Othea Alford, all of South Bend, IN.
Martin had three aunts – Fannie Mae Carr and Pat Johnson, both of South Bend, IN; Mandy Martin-Andrews (Bob) of Huntsville, AL.

In addition, Martin had a best friend Chris and a special cousin/brother, Charles, of Las Vegas, NV. Martin also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
