Obituary for Mark Wayne Whitworth

Mark Whitworth, 63, passed away at his home in Burlington, WI. With his family at his side on April 29, 2021, after a very brave battle with AML.

He was born in Kenosha, WI the fourth son of Harold and Eleanor (Wenman) Whitworth on June 15, 1957.

He attended local schools and graduated from Tremper high School in 1975. He worked in irrigation all his life and in 1993 started his own business, Northern Mist Lawn Sprinkler Ltd. It was a successful venture that resulted in many long term and enjoyable relationships with employees and customers.

Mark enjoyed hunting up north, fishing at the family cabin in Canada and spending the past 10 winters in Arizona: boating and socializing with an especially fun group of snowbirds.

He liked to keep busy. Mark was always planning new projects, either at home, at the property in Alma Center, or at the home Lake Havasu, Arizona.

On March 24, 1979 he married his wife of 42 years Bonnie (Gallman) Whitworth. He enjoyed being a father to their two sons, Jared and Jacob Whitworth and grandfather to Amelia and Maxwell Whitworth. He is further survived by his brother Gregg and wife Patty, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He considers his friends in Canada and Arizona a part of that family also.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Gary and Brent Whitworth, in-laws Bill and Jean Gallman, brother-in-law Billy Gallman, and many four-legged friends over the years.

Mark would like to give special thanks to his brother Gregg for his generation donation of bone marrow and Gregg’s wife, Patty, for the endless help and support. As well as his doctors and their staff.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Proko Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
