Obituary for Lorraine Mayer
Marie Lorraine Mayer, 67 years old, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, with her husband by her side.
She was born November 7, 1955, in Clarksville, TN the daughter of the late Loyde and Jean (Rossiter) Floyd. She worked at the donut shop where she met her husband, James Mayer. In 1980, he stole her back to WI and on July 19, 1980, they were married in Jim’s parents’ backyard in Port Washington, WI during the annual Port Fish Day. Despite the cold winters, they built a beautiful life together traveling to many site seeing places throughout the United States. Some of their favorites were the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Door County, and then also back to TN. Lorraine was extremely proud of her family, and even took specialty training at Children’s Hospital so she could help care for her grandchildren. She would drop anything to help her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, James Mayer; children, Mark Seay and Justin (Becky) Mayer; former daughter in law, Steinunn Seay; grandchildren, Ella, Emmi, Olivia, and Oliver; and siblings, Paul and Mark Floyd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Michael Floyd.
Memorial visitation for Lorraine will be held from 12:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25th, 2023, at Proko Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately.
