Obituary for Louise Marsden (Dattilo)

Louise Marsden, 89, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Kenosha Senior Living.

Born in Kenosha, on November 2, 1930, she was the youngest daughter of the late Albert and Elvira (Stella) Dattilo. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools and graduated from Kenosha High School. She went on to attend evening college courses to learn skills like typing.

Louise worked early on as a bookkeeper at Bell’s Clothing House downtown and later, on the assembly line at American Motors for many years. It was here that she met her future husband that she may (or may not have) thrown washers at to get his attention. She and Jerome George “Jerry” Marsden were married on October 6, 1956, at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Jerry and Louise loved to travel and go fishing together. After 42 years of marriage together, he preceded her in death on May 8, 1999.

Louise was a member of Holy Rosary and the Local 72. She enjoyed playing the keyboard and harmonica, making and flying kites, reading, photography, and was very active at Kenosha Senior Living where she loved playing BINGO with her many friends there, particularly Betty Czar and Godfrey.

She is survived by her nephew, Karl Hering; niece, Karen Hering both of Phoenix, AZ; great niece, Diane Paglaroni; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding Louise in death are her brother, Lorido Hering; sister, Gloria Hering; and a nephew, Terry Hering.

Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019, in St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Safe Harbor Humane Society, www.safeharborhumanesociety.org/donate, would be appreciated. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Kindred Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
