Obituary for Kathleen Gail Sullivan

Kathleen G. Sullivan, 64, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Oak Park, IL on August 14, 1956, she was the daughter of Dennis and Margaret (Stone) Sullivan.

Following high school, she attended nursing school in Norfolk, VA and graduated as an LPN. She served as a nurse for the entirety of her career and for 17 years she worked at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, IL, retiring in 2017. She loved caring for her many patients.

On December 3, 1986, she married Stanley Tkacy in North Chicago. Together they traveled to and visited many places, lastly the Gulf Coast to see the ocean that she loved.

Kathleen was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and tutored kindergarten and first grade students in reading. She enjoyed gardening, singing, dancing, and a good Bloody Mary. She was an extremely thoughtful friend and her kind, caring, loving, and generous personality will be missed by the many people who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley; two children, Megan and Adam Tkacy; mother, Margaret; and six siblings, Peggy (Eric), Colleen (Terry), Maureen, Noreen (Darrell), Daniel (Jennifer), and Patrick (Kathleen). She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dennis; and her beloved brother, Denny Sullivan.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 17th, at Proko Funeral Home, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Facial coverings and social distancing are required for those attending. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Lung Association, 13100 W Lisbon Road, Ste 700, Brookfield, WI 53005, would be appreciated by the family.
