Obituary for Joyce A. Speck (Gildenzopf)
Joyce Avis Speck, 80 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Friday, August 5, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI.
She was born July 3, 1942, in Nekoosa, WI the daughter of the late Roy and Inez (Lymenstal) Gildenzopf. Joyce grew up in Nekoosa, WI with her favorite cousin Jean and Aunt Blanche. Prior to attending high school, she relocated to Chicago, IL. She lived in the Chicagoland area for many years before settling in Kenosha, WI in 2005.
Joyce worked most of her career as a bill collector, it was a job that she loved and was reluctant to retire from at the age of 72. She was a collector of pigs, enjoyed reading and watching television, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Kimberly Powell and Pamela Speck, both of Kenosha, WI; her sister, Patricia (the late Daniel) Hagemeyer; nephews, Mark and Matthew Hagemeyer; niece, Karen (Peter) Ward; a granddaughter, Vanessa; and a grandson, Damen.
Chapel services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL. Following the service, please join the family for a luncheon at Moretti’s Ristorante, 1893 Walden Office Square, Schaumburg, IL. Arrangements were entrusted to Proko Funeral Home, Kenosha, WI.
