Obituary

Janet Ann Friesen, 84, of Kenosha, entered her eternal home on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Mountain Lake, MN, on April 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Unruh) Heide. She was involved in 4H and received her education in Mountain Lake.

On June 18, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, Erwin K. Friesen, and they spent 66 wonderful years together.

Janet, being an extraordinary homemaker, dedicated her life to her family. She had strong faith and attended First Assembly of God in Union Grove. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, decorating, playing dominoes, doing word searches and coloring. Above all else, Janet loved caring for her grandchildren & great-grandchildren who brought joy to her life. Her family was her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband, Erwin; four children, Lynell (Debbie) Friesen of Sheboygan, DeLyn (Catherine) Friesen of La Vergne, TN, Vianne Berwick of Rochester, MN, and Jolene Fraser of Kenosha; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah (Aaron), Micah (Alexa), Jeremy, Britney, Jayson (Cheyenne), Evan, Janae (Lucas), Heide (Joel), and Emily; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Elsie Watts, Edwin Heide and Ervin Heide.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 22nd, at First Assembly of God, 1845 Main Street, Union Grove, WI 53182, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Facial coverings are required for attendance. Interment will take place at Mountain Lake City Cemetery in MN, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Aurora at Home Hospice, 1155 N Honey Creek Pkwy, Wauwatosa, WI 53213, or Mountain Lake Christian Day School Katie Friesen Fund, 710 11th St N, Mountain Lake, MN 56159.

Uncle Erwin, Lynell, Delyn, Vianne, Jolene and family. Aunt Janet was a fantastic person, full of love and compassion. We enjoyed speaking with her over the years whenever distance allowed us the chance. We are deeply saddened by your loss. Her passing touches us deeply and we wish we could be there with you. Know we are there in spirit with loving support, a hug and prayer. God bless you all. May He be with you more so in this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Our love,
Rick and Dawn Friesen family (OK's son)

On August 12, 2020, I said goodbye to my Aunt Janet, who I believe was my very 1st Best Friend. She was the youngest child in a family of 4, eight years younger than my mom. Janet was 12 when I was born, the perfect age to be my babysitter and playmate. When I was 6, they tell me I cried when I learned she would marry Erwin and no longer live in Grandma and Grandpa’s house. By then we had already created a special bond that would stand the test of 72 years, numerous moves across country and the birth of Her 4 children and eventually my 4. I am so very thankful I was able to make the trip from Washington to Wisconsin last November. We had a wonderful visit, a memory I hold dear to my heart. I will forever be grateful to Uncle Erv for calling me on August 10th, I was able to visit with my “best friend” one last time. It gives me so much peace now. Many of us will miss her, but none more than her family. My prayers are with you Lynell, DeLyn, Vianne, Jolene and all the Grands and Greats. I know the visits with her Great Grandchildren gave her so much joy. She loved them so much and I know they love her.
Thank you, Uncle Erv and Jolene for taking such good care of her.
As long as I live, you will be lovingly remembered. “Goodbye” for now Aunt Janet, I’ll see you again soon!
