Obituary for Irma Maria Miceli (Covelli)

Irma Maria Miceli, 91, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully early morning on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

On December 4, 1955, she married Ildo Miceli in Italy. They came to the US in 1958 and made Kenosha their home. After 50 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on June 29, 2006.

Her husband, Ildo, opened the “Miceli Brothers Tailor Shop” along with his brothers in 1967. Irma worked by his side as a seamstress for many years. She was a dedicated wife and mother, grandmother and a devout Catholic as a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and loved going to Las Vegas.

Survivors include her two sons, Dr. Giuseppe (Carolina) Miceli and Luigi (Adriana) Miceli; and five grandchildren, Nicholas, Marco, Matthew, Bianca, and Sabrina. She is also survived by her sisters: Valentina Molinaro, Rosaria Vitaro and three brothers: Aldo (Maria) Covelli, Elio (Sue) Covelli, and Mario Covelli. Surviving in-laws include: Delores Covelli, Mario (Maria) Miceli, Frank (Ada) Miceli, and Vanda Parrone. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Aside from her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Carmela; her brothers Francesco (Anna) Covelli, Luigi Covelli and Antonio Covelli; and her sisters-in-law, Celestina Miceli and Betty Covelli; and brother-in-law, Domenico Molinaro.

Special thank you to the staff at Brookdale Kenosha for all the wonderful care given to our mom and Julie and Jeff Smith, her wonderful neighbors, who took good care of her for many years.
