Obituary for Gaetano Marotti

Gaetano “Guy” Marotti, 85 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Monday, August 26, 2019, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House surrounded by his family.

He was born September 28, 1933, in Montegallo, Castro, Italy, the son of the late Manilio and Marianna (Lappa) Marotti. He grew up in Italy and came to the United States in 1962, settling in Kenosha. Guy was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Kenosha.

Guy built his own home in Bristol, WI, enjoyed keeping up with all the Italian traditions, was a gourmet cook, made his own wine, sausage, and lonza, and was an avid reader. He also maintained a large garden. In his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting.

He worked for several years with Bindelli Construction, and later went on to work for Camosy Construction, until his retirement. After his retirement, he made an annual 2-month trip back to Italy.

Survivors include his siblings, Domenico (Mary M.) Marotti, Agnes (Frank) Rosselli, Rudy Marotti, Giuseppe (Anne) Marotti, and Maurizio (Wanda) Marotti; two nieces, two nephews, nine great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins. In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by a nephew.

Guy’s family would like to thank Dr. Joshua Bloom for his compassion and care, all the staff of Hospice Alliance, and Schamika RN at Froedtert South.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3rd at Proko Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4th at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Kenosha. Entombment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Kenosha. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Hospice Alliance or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in his memory.
