Obituary for Dolores H. Thomas (Waldow)

Dolores H. Thomas, 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

Born in Kenosha, she was the daughter of Herbert and Rose Waldow. She attended local schools, graduated from Bradford High School, and had been a longtime member of St. Mark’s Parish. In her younger years, she worked at Cooper’s, (Jockey).

On April 3, 1948, she married Milan J. Thomas and in 2018, they celebrated their 70th anniversary. Together they raised two daughters and she was actively involved in their school activities. As was the tradition for most young mothers in the ‘50’s, she was able to enjoy staying in the home and her priority was caring for her family’s needs in those days.

She loved sewing, leaving memories of the old Singer machine on the kitchen table turning out little party dresses, doll clothes, and crafty holiday décor. Later in life she became a buyer and clerk at Ventura Jewelers. She lived her role as mother, grandmother, and great grandma to the fullest extent she could, always involved and caring.

She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her daughter, Linda (Ben) St. Louis and six grandchildren, Steven (Krista) St. Louis, Michelle St. Louis, Kristine (Jason) Stolfi, Cheryl Brown, Alan Brown, and Emily (Andy) Brzezinski. She also leaves behind seven great grandchildren, Hannah, Sydney, Addison, Jason, Jayden, McKayla, and Taylor.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Milan; daughter, Donna Thomas; and brother, Donald Waldow.

Visitation will take place on Friday, May 21st, at Proko Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be private at All Saints Mausoleum.
