Corinne M. “Corky” Holm, 92, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on March 12, 1927, to the late Elmer E. and Ethel M. (Goodman) Stein. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Bradford High School in 1945.

On September 27, 1947, she married Raymond Zaneck who preceded her in death on February 21, 1983. She then went on to marry Harold R. Holm on October 19, 1985, and he preceded her in death on July 20, 2000.

Corinne was a homemaker for her beloved family. She received her pilots license at the age of 18 after only 6 hours of flight instruction then extended her training to become a stunt pilot during the war. She was part of a group of pilots who brought planes to the army air force for training purposes.

Corky loved golf, swimming and scuba diving, bowling, tennis, and traveling but, loved flying most. She was an avid animal lover.

Survivors include her daughter, Charlene (Skip) Woffinden; and granddaughter, Ronnie Holly.

Aside from her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her dear sister, Lois Peterson; and a niece, Valerie Elrod

Corinne was a lovely, gentle soul who was very special to my late wife, Valerie, and also to me....... She will be greatly missed. Condolences to Ronnie, her granddaughter, who cared for Corrine with dedication and unlimited devotion, and to Charlene, her daughter.

I’m very sorry to read the passing of your beloved Corinne. Please accept my sincere condolences. I have personally felt comforted by the promise made by God of bringing back to life those who sleep in death (1 Thes. 4:14). So be assured that you’ll be able to hug, kiss and talk to Corinne again. She will come back into an Earth free of suffering, sickness and anything that causes us to shed tears of pain (Rev. 21:4). This hope is both sure and firm because Jehovah God cannot lie (Heb. 6:18; Titus 1:2). Is my sincere desire that you can also find comfort in this words during this difficult time for you.

My Aunt Corky was my favorite Aunt , I wish i could have spent more time with her. My Favorite memories of her are when i was younger and i spent time with her and Ronnie at her house playing and when i had my surgeries Corky would tell me it would be ok. Corky was amazing at everything she did. I went into a foster home, so i lost connection with her, but all my memories of her are the best, i gained some connection with her and my family, but i know she is another angel of mine. i love you and will always miss you. R.I.P. Aunt Corky.

I meet gram a few years ago, and I truly loved sitting and listening to her stories. She would always ask me how my day was. We both loved to talk about flowers and gardening stuff. I miss you gram!
