Obituary for Cheryl Lynn Willoughby

Cheryl Lynn Willoughby, age 64, passed away Monday afternoon March 4, 2019 at Saint Catherine’s Hospital in Kenosha, Wisconsin with her brother Jim, and longtime friend Jerry at her side.

Cheryl was born on April 6, 1954. She was a graduate of UW-Parkside. Although small in statue and quiet in voice, Cheryl had a heart that spread far and wide. Cheryl spent all of her life in Kenosha. Her brother, James and her were quite close growing up at only thirteen months apart. They often traveled together to visit their parent’s retirement home in North Central Wisconsin.

Cheryl had a nephew Jason (Shawna), daughter Claire, from Kenosha, and niece Jennifer Butler (2nd Lt. Zachery USAF), son Eli currently from Mississippi. Cheryl had a close friend Jerry Paupore that she knew for forty years who also helped care for her the last few months of her life.

Cheryl had a lifelong battle with a rare blood disorder that prevented her from doing many things personally and with her family. She endured many physician visits, transfusions and medication regimes. She will always be remembered for her strength while struggling with her illness.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Laverne (Grabowicz) Willoughby, grandparents, and other loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16th at Proko Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be private. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
