Obituary for Amanda Jones
Amanda Jones, 65 years old of Kenosha, WI, formerly St. Louis, MO passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at her home.
She was born September 23, 1957, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Miller) Jones Sr.
Amanda found the joy in life, always. Her children will remember her loving, caring nature and her helpful advice. She enjoyed singing, dancing, roller skating, and reading. Amanda was a talented cook and loved creating a positive environment.
Survivors include her children, Sylba Poe of Racine, WI and Johnny Poe of Kenosha, WI; six grandchildren, Mia Horn, Xzarion Smith, India Smith, Angel Montgomery, Clintin Montgomery Jr., and Dea-Monte Howard; four great-grandchildren, Di-Mir Jayden Smith, JJ Brown, Junior Brown, Nakia Brown; and siblings, James Jones, Lorraine Hutchings, Marlin Jones, Lorenzo Jones, and Wanda Jones.
In addition to her parents, Amanda was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Poe; siblings, Louis Jones Jr., Marcella Sherrod, Maxine Anderson, Deborah Moore, and Cynthia Conners; and a grandson, Joseph Poe.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Proko Funeral Home with services commencing at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha, WI. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to a family memorial.
