Obituary for Agnes Mae "Aggie" Hennessy (Hartle)
Agnes “Aggie” Mae (Hartle) Hennessy, 76, passed away peacefully, after battling complications from pancreatic cancer, at Hospice Alliance - Hospice House, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
Born in Devils Lake, ND, Aggie was the daughter of the late Mike and Margaret (Bickler) Hartle.
Upon graduating from Warwick High School in 1963, Aggie attended Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks, ND, graduating with an accounting degree. She retired in 2000 after 20 years as a legal secretary in Waukegan, IL.
In 1965, Aggie met the love of her life, Tim Hennessy, a young man who recently served in the U.S. Air Force. They were married in Grand Forks, ND in 1967. Lindenhurst, IL, was where they would call home while working and raising their family. Together they owned and operated Hennessy Construction, Inc. for 20 years. Upon their retirement in 2000, they moved again to Anderson, SC, to enjoy friends, golf, and travel. He preceded her in death in 2021.
Aggie dedicated her time and many talents to New Hope United Methodist Church, Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM), Haven of Rest, Meals on Wheels, and numerous nursing home missions.
Aggie is survived by her son, Patrick (Laura) Hennessy; daughter, Lisa (Alexander) Moreno; grandchildren, Michael (Alexandria) Hennessy, Lucas Sheen, and Anthony Moreno; and her two loving pets, Molly & Woody. She is also survived by her siblings, Louis Hartle, Isabel (Jerome) Liska, and James Hartle; as well as many special friends and family members.
In addition to her husband and parents, Aggie was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Hartle; brother-in-law, Jerome Liska; mother-in-law and father-in law, Dorothy (Lenzen) Hennessy and Serls “Red” Hennessy.
A heartfelt note of thanks to her medical team in South Carolina and Wisconsin for the compassionate care and support given in Aggie’s time of need.
Services for Aggie were held privately. In lieu of flowers, Aggie would like you to donate to your local cancer association, Hospice organization, or a meaningful charity of their choice to honor her memory.
