Obituary for Timothy James Pagel

The world lost a bright star. Timothy James Pagel, 41, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Tim loved his life, no matter how difficult it was. His courage and tenacity were incomparable.
Born in Beaver Dam, on March 18, 1977, he was the son of Donald and Karen (Rader) Pagel. He spent is youth in Horicon, WI, playing hockey, golf and enjoying small town life.
Tim received his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University. While there, he developed a love for the Bulldogs and most importantly lifelong friendships that he cherished. Tim had a rewarding career as a Golf Professional where he got to do what he loved: teach golf, be outside and interact with people. He worked until MS would no longer allowed him to.
On March 6, 2004, he married Liza Freeman. His love for Liza was his motivation to keep up his battle for as long and strong as he did. He wanted his “Sweets” to be proud of his battle scars, and she was. When he would hear the theme from Married With Children come on his phone, he would smile. He knew it was Liza checking to make sure he was doing okay or making sure that the list of tasks she had assigned him for the day was being completed. She wanted him to know that he still had value and purpose in their lives.
Another passion of Tim’s was the four-legged variety. It started with the unforgettable Temmu, then the loveable Mason, followed by the unpredictable Zoe and currently his constant companion Ziggy. They all had an immeasurable impact on his life and him on their lives.
He will be remembered for his love of his Packers and Badgers, his love of Seinfeld (often quoting some of his favorite episodes), his love of a good Bloody Mary or a shot of Knob Creek, and his ability to eat a whole jalapeño without flinching. Tim’s sense of humor was well known. He always managed to put a smile on his face no matter how he was feeling. He had the ability to tell a witty joke that could make anyone smile. The one thing that no one ever tired of was his expression of love and gratitude for their presence in his life.
Survivors include his wife, Liza; his parents, Don and Karen; his brother, Mike (Heather) Pagel; his father and mother-in-law, Butch and Sheila Freeman; his brother-in-law, Jes Freeman; his sister-in-law, Katie (Taylor) Henning; two nephews, Kaleb and Ethan; a niece, Lexi; and Great Dane, Ziggy.
Arrangements for his Celebration of Life gathering are still being planned. Tim wanted to be remembered with love and humor, so we will gather to share stories, to laugh and cry and to show him the impact that he left on everyone he met. Please check Facebook for updates on the date, time and location to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either of two of Tim’s favorite causes, The MS Society, Wisconsin Chapter (https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Chapters/WIG) or The Great Dane Sanctuary (http://danefarm.org/).
